I just got my copy a little while ago.
I went to 3 stores at lunch time and no one had it.
When I came back I checked Best Buys website for the store I had just went to showed as available.
I had to tell my boss that I had left my checkbook there and went back and it still wasn't on the shelves till I finally got a manager to check the warehouse and I got my copy.
I have faith in Epic to shell out 59.00 for the Ultimate edition .
They did not let me down on the last 3 games and I lked the demo but when I get home and install it I will let you know what I think of the final.
After my experinece with the retail industry today I am scared there are enough dumbasses to elect whats her face to that office I won't mention..

So Pork, what sort of stuff comes with the limited special release in 3D ultra surround sound version?

I can’t believe something I waited this long for did not peak my interest to go to the store and get it. I am positive I will pick it up when I run into it but I am not in a rush. I think a few of us were taking back by the alpha demo pretending to be the beta demo. I read a review from a gaming website and the guy in the review said the game was ok and would most likely improve but he was disappointed with the fact that the game seemed to be more of a platform to show off what the unreal engine could do in order to be used in other applications.

By the way, a beta patch has been released that fixes a number of "issues" people were having with the game (eyeheight problem, guns firing projectiles higher than the gun itself, etc). The amount of whining decreased since the patch went online, so I'm guessing people are content with it

I can't seem to find the patch .
Is it for the full game or just the demo ?
A link would be appreciated.

Played the demo for a few nights a couple weeks ago. Gotta be honest, wasn't very impressed. Sure, gameplay was detailed and flashy, but it didn't "feel" right. I talked to some people who cranked their settings all the way down and turned off almost all the flashy effects, just so they could see the opponent better. I mean, even the air has some crazy glow to it.

Anyways, I'm gonna wait a bit and see how things go.
World War III will be fought using atomic weapons, the war after that will be fought using sticks and stones.

Heh.. It seems as if the patch was available before the game.

Anyways, the patch does seem to resolve a lot of the issues that i had with the demo... Besides my crappy FPS, the overall game play was good, and probably will grow on me with more playtime.
I'll definitely be buying it once I can get a decent system together.

ok they have a way to add server favorites now and the bots seem taller.
They have texture and world detail sliders now in the advanced video set up
and spec mode for servers.
This is what I saw so far and just played one instant action game.
This is still a beta.

Actually favorite servers is under history. I guess that will be added in the final patch.

So far, so good, eh? To be honest, I think the game is fantastic the way it is, but these new additions certainly add a bit. I'm going to try out the editor tomorrow, to see just what it's like.
