This may be the best article about gaming I have ever read.

I can't even begin to explain how much I agree with this:
Confusing, mapless floor plans. Did you remember when you were a kid and you got bored on weekends, how you would go to a large building, a hotel or a hospital, then wander around for several hours looking for a certain room? While zombies attacked you? Neither do we. That's because, much to the surprise of FPS game makers everywhere, wandering around lost in hallways isn't fun.

If you game wizards are so proud of your sprawling levels and alternate routes, GIVE ME A MAP OF THE LEVEL. If I'm not playing to have fun, then why the fuck do you think I'm playing?

That part about graphics first was absolutely true. Here's my take on it. How many people still play starcraft, even though its really old and the graphics are in our terms "outdate"? How many play Warcraft 3? Chances are, about 4-5 times as many play starcraft, if not more. Designers should think more about the gameplay than about that ooh-so-awesome splash of water that looks nearly as real. You want realisic, get out of your parent's basement and look outside. Just don't burn up

I used to review games for worthplaying.com and I must say, this was a great article. There are games out there to answer every one of those demands, they usually aren't the big marketing vehicles though. Similar to good movies. The good ones are usually smaller. My wife and I just saw Crash, outstanding movie.

Wow! This must be one of those new second-person shooters we've been hearing about where you spend the whole game looking at the hero's fucking eye. Because surely from now on they'll demonstrate the awesomeness of their game only with shots from the game, right?

This is so annoying I'm sick of watching Sony's dumbass movies.
