King's Quest

For any of you who liked this series (i did... every single game) there is a fan-based King's Quest 9 in the works... problem is Vivendi (company that bought the rights) won't let them publish.

Wow.. that takes me back.

When I was a kid, I remember spending HOURS playing King's Quest I & II at a friend's house. Those games were great.

Sadly, I've seen copyright owners shut down a few VERY promising looking work by fans:

And that's usually the end of it.

As much as it sucks, I do understand why companies do it... If Vivendi does pick up the series again, it may hurt their sales if the fan-made game completely sucked (something that they had no control over). Hence IP Law.

:shock: havent heard that name in a LONG time. I used to play this and Archon(battle chess) when I was in 5th grade(Im 31 now). Thanks for the timewarp Dragon.

I saw leisure suit larry in concert last friday... Ok so it was KC and the Sunshine Band at our local fair... but KC looked like Leisure Suit Larry...
