OMG !! IT IS DONE
Duke Nukem Forever is Done
It's really happening.
May 24, 2011 May 24, 2011 May 24, 2011
It took 15 years, but development for Duke Nukem Forever is finished. 2K Games and Gearbox Software today confirmed the game has "gone gold," signaling its completed development.
"Duke Nukem Forever and its journey to store shelves is legendary," said George Broussard, creative director at 3D Realms. "It's an epic tale of four game development studios that banded together and did the unthinkable and shipped the unshippable. When you play this game you will be reminded of that epic journey at every turn and in every small detail of the game."
Duke Nukem Forever is set to launch on June 10 Internationally and June 14 in North America for PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. Pre-ordering the game or purchasing the Borderlands Game of the Year Edition will grant players into the demo for all platforms on June 3.
"Duke Nukem Forever is the game that was once thought to be unshippable, and yet here we are, on the precipice of history," said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. "Today marks an amazing day in the annals of gaming lore, the day where the legend of Duke Nukem Forever is finally complete and it takes that final step towards becoming a reality
After 15 years finally!!
What will happen next ?
Hell who knows I might even get laid.

My take on the demo is if you like the original Duke then you will like this game.
Nothing ground breaking as far as graphics go and on a scale of one to 10 I would say it is about an 8. It is a game on rails as you have certain paths you have to take and goals to meet but it keeps a lot of the old weapons .
This is based on the single player demo and it was about 20 to 25 minutes worth of play.
Of course what we are interested in is the mulitplayer aspect and I thinkit will be fun depending on how it sets up and the type of maps.
I do love the political incorrectness in the game.

Ok Nyte and I both got copies yesterday and agree the game play is fun if you liked the original Duke.
Graphics are ok but not great and the game play like most of the games back in it's day are pretty linear.
Nyte tried the muliplayer some last night and told me it was buggy as hell and it this point in time it is not playable enough to set up a server.
I will try it some this weekend and see what results I get.
This might be a game where we will have to see some patches beofre considering it
as a playable Duke Match game.
The women sure do have some nice tits though

I'd LOVE to see Nyte's Lizard Skin go up to one of the hotties and start humping her leg! Roflcopter.

Ha ha.
I remember an early interview when they asked the original developers' why it was taking so long. No joke...they said "World of Warcraft"
Return to “did that really happen?”
