Monster cables are the greatest thing on earth when it comes to electronics. Although a gold plated powercord is utterly worthless. Things like audio and video connectors on the other hand are well worth the money spent for higher end pieces of electronics.

Actually Monster Cables are pretty bad, for the most part. For one, they're way too over priced. And second, any of the 1/4 inch jacks they produce, tear up whatever your putting it into. I know quite a few bass players who had to send their amps out to get repaired because the input got torn up from excessive use of monster cables.

That for the price, ew.

Nordost, Kimber, Cardas, Straightwire, Audioquest... these are all better than Monster. Monster is a good beginning for people to see that there is a difference but it would be at the bottom of the high end. It's sort of like the Bose of speakers, people think it's great because they haven't heard the good stuff yet.

i agree at the store where i work we have start to sale high end audio and we have buy power cable who improved the sound a lot they are expensive around 250 but thats a very good buy to do

You have got to be kidding. That cord isn't doing anything that a half-way decent UPS can do for you for a lower price, with the added bonus of surge proteciton, and backup power.

Are you suggesting that the makers of your 'high-end' components haven't already considered (and compensated for) power-line noise?

Are you suggesting that the ambient noise in your store is low enough that your ears could even tell the difference? Must be damn quiet in Canada.

Further, if someone you trust tells you 'it sounds better with this' ... you'll percieve differences that aren't really there.

Don't believe me...try it on your customers. Let them listen to something and then say "now I'm going to plug in a high-end power cable...wait till you hear how much better it sounds" then do NOTHING... Let them listen to the same music again... I bet more than half will say "WOW, that IS better"

I am probebly blind but if im blind i have good ears.I i have buy one for me ans all the sound have change so much the bass go a lot deeper,and more accurated.The mid and the trebel have become very clear,smooth,and natural,whit a better sound stage.

You know when we talk about sound you cant believe how little things can transform your hifi at home .But the best to learn all that is to read and give it some try you wont believe your ear trust me on that.

Sorry I live about 25 miles from the nearest electrical generation facility. Shielding the last 6 feet from outside noise is like throwing a brick into the Grand Canyon. (Rom that's a really, really big hole in the ground)

And of course, if I'm right, it would mean admiting to yourself you were duped by the marketing hype, and spent far too much money on 6 feet of 12 guage copper.

I've seen these arguments dozens of times over the years... CD's vs vinyl... even vaccum tubes vs solid state...

Funny how there's one constant though... No matter who you talk to, and what side you're on... The other guy will always say "People who are "true" audiophiles will agree with me."

I have monster cables for both my LCD tv and the audio and they rock. I actually had a decent audio set, I think it cost around 50 bucks and when I swapped it out for the monster cables there was a nice difference. I changed them a few times and my friend could guess which one was which without me saying what was pluggeed in. I did that to see if I was going to keep them or not.
