Tiger Direct - Crazy deals

Postby nonstop » Sun Nov 05, 2006 6:15 pm

Ever shopped at tiger direct? Looks like their selling you a core 2 cpu and motherboard for about 100.00 more than new egg but the good thing is they are also confused about which motherboard they are selling.

This Bundle Includes

Asus P5B Intel Socket 775 ATX Motherboard
The GIGABYTE 965P-S3 motherboard is built to support a range of processors, including the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, Intel® Pentium® D and the Intel® Pentium® 4. The 965P-S3 delivers support of up to 8 GB of DDR2 800 / 667 / 533 MHz SDRAM.

Huh?

I worked for their sister copany for a while ,Global Computer Supplies. They are owned by Systemax and their reputation is less than honorable.

I only purchased a few things from Tiger... overall an underwhelming experience. When the Syntax motherboard I bought was DOA, I still had to go thru manufacturer to get it replaced.

I've picked up a few odds and ends from Tiger before (nothing major)... No problems yet.

They usually are pretty price competitive, but in most cases newegg ends up being the better choice.
