:?:

well, keep in mind that NO OTHER PRESIDENT has EVER had to deal with as much stuff during their terms in office as Bush Jr.

and yes, he is a man, and thus, fallible

You mean no one has stirred up as much crap from their bloodlust for revenge?

I know someone that worked with him, she said he's actually a good person, just not very intelligent.

Um no:

Abraham Lincoln: Civil War and Slavery
Woodrow Wilson: World War I
Franklin Roosevelt: The Great Depression and World War II... while dealing with polio.

I just scratched the surface. Bush has had a lot of things happend while in office yes, but everything he has dealt with he has been mediocre. Don't get me started on the idiot programs he's started. What single thing has he done with a "good" ending for the American people?

I'm not republican or democrat or saying so-and-so would do a better job but jeez...

Bush isn't Hitler but I can't remember a president in the last few decades that have abused or pushed the limited of presidential power so far and accomplished so little.

/end hijacking rant.

That about sums the problem imo. I think he believes he thinks what he is doing is what is best when its necessaryly not. I think if we dig further, we can find lots of various shit that most of the presidents had to deal with. Granted 9/11 is the most closly related to the attack of pearl harbor and our entry into wwII. However, thats a mute point. Its what is done and how the issues are "resolved". Bush has had alot of various actions (wether you agree with them or not) but no resolutions. His analytical and problem solving skills are not those of past presidents. That starts him off in a more difficult postition to solve problems then the past presidents. He is almost done. Hopefully he continues to try the best he can do and gets the support of those with better skills to assist him in the time has he has left. Because he is in the position for another year and a half... period!

Its not the first time. Welcome to the problems every other country in the world has including Britian. (It sounds cold I know, its not meant to be - but this is the reality of everyday life in every other country and we need to get used to it instead of overreacting... taking my toenail clippers away at airport security means they terrorist goal was accomplished. We need to get past this fear).

Nytefyre wrote:a war in iraq

Sorry, he started this one and doesn't know how to deal with it.

Nytefyre wrote:the pending war in iran

Every president since the 70's has dealt with this.

Nytefyre wrote:north korea

Problems here since Communism... nothing new except some nukes now

Nytefyre wrote:syria and the fact that the world wants us to bend to their wishes in the konfict in israel...

This is old as civilization and has been in its current form since WWII when Israel was founded. For the first time its just not involving oil... notice Bush's lack of involvement now. Nothing new.

Nytefyre wrote:the boarder issue with mexico

This has been in issue for decades... its not a new problem. Its something used as a tool to divert the public eye away from external issues and focus on something internal. Same reason abortion comes up in the news every 3.5-4 years.

Nytefyre wrote:no, NO other president has ever had to deal with so much....that, and the fact that the UN is worthless and wont do anything...all they are doing is agreeing to disagree and the purpose of the UN was to stop this kind of crap....

The UN only has the power of the countries that support it. We're not supporting it alot and since we're by far the most powerful active participant it can't do much without us. We are the UN's muscle.

Nytefyre wrote:im tyred of everyone dogging the US, but when the crap hits the fan, we are supposed to take our tyme and our resources and make it ryte for them....

Yes we are. Most of the world is jealous of us - hence the dogging and in some cases hatred. Our power creates a responsibility to help others. Its the job of leaders to protect the weak, needy, and oppressed. And others do try to help when they can - all foreign aid was refused when Katrina hit...

Nytefyre wrote:and btw, roosevelt was in office for 16 years....thats alot of tyme, Bush is comming up on 8 yrs

Guess he knew what he was doing ;)

Nytefyre wrote:ur ryte, he could have done better, and he is a man that can make mistakes, but i do feel that he is trying the best he can...

Yes he is - I don't disagree. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to dog him here. He is the president, and although I exercise free speech in friendly criticism as my opinion, I do support him as a citizen of this country should.

But I would not compare him to this countries past great leaders. He hasn't earned that. That is my point... I'm not trying to convince anyone he is not a good person.

You remember the debate about Terry Schiavo that we had a while ago? Anyways, onto what I was gonna say.

Nyte, the man is an incompetent moron, that surrounds himself with people whom he thinks allocate at least some part of their brains to thinking like him. Since when do top generals and military personnel critize the Commander in Chief so much? I can't recall anything like this that has happened before. In Poland, we had to rebuild after over 40 years of Communist rule, and it happened. If that isn't a "tough" situation, I don't know what is...

All we can do is wait, until 2008....
World War III will be fought using atomic weapons, the war after that will be fought using sticks and stones.

Well I gonna put my last 2 cents in on this thread.
It is fun to discuss politics here and I agree to disagree
and the beauty of this country is you have the right
to discuss different opinions.
First of all I think it is a extreme point of view anyone one that compares Hitler to Bush
I feel that may show someone that truly does not understand or down plays the evils of Hitler. My father fought the Nazis in World War 2 and a lot of Americans as well as other people from other countries died to defeat this evil.
Pure evil existed in this man as well as his followers and he had to be defeated at any cost
Many counties tried to appease him and gave in to him time after time until he invaded Poland
I want to make the point the Hitler was a Socialist. Nazi translated stood for National Socialist Workers Party. The ex-Soviet Union considered themselves Socialist. Socialism
Is a disease that exists under the disguise that everyone will have the same amount of wealth social position regardless of his or her contribution to the state. It kills any ambition to excel or succeed because you will never advance beyond the level the state assigns to you.. Socialist states outlaw religion because they want your undivided loyalty.
We are at war with fanatical religious terrorists that want to destroy convert or enslave
the rest of the world to their beliefs. I find it amusing that some people are more threatened by the fundamentalist Christians more than fanatical Muslim fascists that fly planes in to buildings and destroy 3000 people. I wonder why people don’t see the parallels of Radical Islam and of the Nazis? History is repeating itself as some countries are trying to appease these people while others like Russia China and France were making tons of money selling arms to people like Saddam under the Food for Oil program.
The UN is basically useless these days as afraid to do what is right to counter the terrorist. Please don’t be under the illusion that the terrorist are looking for any peaceful
End to this war as they will not be happy till Israel is wiped off the face of the earth and the rest of the world goes back to third century Muslim rule.
Bush had the courage to take the war to them in Afghanistan and Iraq and believe me the WMD existed in Iraq before we attacked and are in the hands of the Syrians. There is plenty of proof of massive convoys going into Syria before we went in.
I don’t agree with Bush on a lot of issues like immigration but he is dead right on the war on terror and I feel you have to be blind to not to see that. The terrorist have no qualms about killing you and me your kids and anyone they feel is not a believer in their twisted beliefs. We are at war people and Bush did not start it.
A lot of the decline in this country has been due the media that hopped on the Civil Rights bandwagon back in the 60’s and has decided they are going to be the champion of every single underdog that comes out of the woodworks. While the Civil Rights movement was justified to address social ills that existed back then the media has feels it has to sir up crap no matter how lame the cause is. We now condone killing of the unborn while saying executing a mass murderer is inhumane.
We teach homosexuality in schools but forbid prayer. We have fragmented ourselves into hyphenated Americans rather than just Americans. The media wants us to split into small
Camps of right vs. left and religious against non religion and rich vs. poor etc.
The media thrives on class warfare as its bread and butter and every time you watch CNN and CBS, NBC. You are getting a does of their indoctrination, as most people are too lazy to get the facts for themselves and rely on their sound bytes and taking their slant on the news as the facts. Hat is why I think the average liberal is basically lazy and has been taught through public schools and through liberal college professors that all of the government is evil and the rich make there money off exploiting the poor.
The majority of the millionaires in this country are self-made and many of them started with nothing. and through hard work have made themselves successful and they employ millions of us fellow Americans that allow us to raise our families and buys these neat toys.
I want to also comment on the term patriot being treated as it was a dirty word.
The founders of this country were patriots and while it was not perfect in the beginning and still isn’t they invested their lives to create this country and amny fellow Americans have laid down their lives in the battlefields on the Revolutionary War, the Civil War
and in 2 wars in Europe to preserve your rights to vote and express your opinion.
and raise your family as you see fit.
By the way I believe you should exercise your right to vote.
If you don’t then you have to take what leaders others
decide for you and that is just lame.

And yet, strangely enough, most people like it when other people decide for themselves. How does that work?

Pork, for the most part I agree with you, except the part with Bush and his war. Poland has been wiped off the map many times now, it's been divided in more way than its possible to imagine. Your country has never been taken over and had its populace subdued. In my eyes, Bush is as much a tyrant and killer as any other, and using his excuse of war doesn't cut it. My country has seen it's fair share of those, and we've only had real independence for about 15 years, but the country itself has been around for more than 1000 years.

The founding fathers specifically laid down a fine line of church and state, and when you start to erase that, it's eradicating the very principles upon which this country was built, no? If he didn't bring religion into this whole mess, do you think that people would view Bush differently? Blunders, fiascos, and scandals aside, would he be a competent leader?
