Well lets just say Dragon was a little underwhelmed. : )

I must admit I am a big fan of the series and first impressions are pretty low. I'll keep playing though and see if any sparks appear.

I played some more Dragon. It suxors!

WTH??? Age of Empires has been a great and hugely supported rts for years now. How the hell can the same studio make a big turd for the 3rd iteration? Doesn't make any sense at all. I'm befuttled. :?

You will find Id Software laughing all the way to the bank Silly boys and girls. You all should get it as software/computer people that ID doesn't give a flip what you think about doom3, they make engines. Yes they slap the initial vs of the engine with a doom or quake name on it but I have read several articles from them and they could care less cause their money comes from liscensing. They have claimed that their doom/quake games are more of a technology demo.

I don't know if you all remember being youngins or not but doom and doom 2 were all panned by reviewers as well but sold like hotcakes. After doom2 they mentioned how it's all about the engines with Carmack and ID laughs all the way to the bank as they tend to get 20+ licesensing agreements about of each iteration of their engine(s). That's literally millions and millions of dollars.

Unfortunately for the AOE3 demo, so far it doesn't even serve as a good tech demo. I have uninstalled it. As gomer pyle said...'for shame...for shame.... for shame...."

Lovely, that means no 5+ hours of downloading something at 20 kb/s. I'm lucky if I get 40...

I liked Doom 3. It had a fairly well developed story-line, and really pulled you in. Framerates sucked, but I put that off to having *all* the detail turned on.

I suppose the key here is my use of past-tense. Doom 3 was a great 'once through it' play. It's not a game I'd go back to night after night.

I guess I'll not waste my bandwith on AOE III...at least for now.

I've got AOE II and (i think) the first expansion... I pretty much quit playing when someone told me the cheat codes... tried the viper car for a half-hour, then gave it up :-)

Isn't that funny. Once you use the cheats it's no fun anymore. I pretty much did the same after playing through most of it.

Let me know what you think of it.

Have you tried Rise Of Nations?
