Would you join an empty server?

OK... Here's the scenario:

You've kicked all distractions out of the house, You've got some serious time to kill, and only thing on your mind: "I've got to kill sid".

One problem: It's an off-time, or a slow night, and any server actually worth joining is empty, except for a few inept bots tirelessly awaiting your arrival.

Which brings us to the question of the day:
Would you bother joining the empty server in the hopes that fellow fraggers will arrive?

I've played with Ti long enough to know how most of you SHOULD answer, but I'm curious to see how the stats work out.

Quite often I'll jump in our empty server, mainly because I know that before the map ends somebody will show up (I think Clown checks the servers every 5 minutes).

I'd rather play with the regulars, but when the regulars aren't around I'd rather play with bots over the usual asshats I come across on other servers. I'll take my chances playing a few minutes with bots that stand still, very rarely do I have to wait to long before somebody shows, no big deal.

if i'm not having any luck shoosting myself with the ass rifle i'll jump online........might just as well take enjoyment killing myself since EVERYONE ELSE DOES!!! :P

joking aside, as ace said it will only be a matter of time before someone shows up on one of the public servers. maps like grendel or compressed seem to draw more people than other maps. so if you catch it at the right time you have a greater chance of drawing more people.

I typically go elsewhere. I'm not into 1v1s and I don't want to play with bots. I do keep an eye on the buddy list (even when I'm playing) to see if people show up to play though.

Yes,

I'll jump in, usually with the idea of practicing movment, combos etc...in an online server (0 ping just isn't realistic) ...

More often than not, just about the time I get involved in what I'm doing, someone shows up to take pot-shots at the law.

If I remember correctly, bots show up as users for the player count. So if there are 3 bots and 1 player, the server would say 4/8 But on the player list, it won't show the bots. With that said, you can attract more players if users are entering throught he server browser. Not everyone looks at the actual player list before joining.

Same as Ace, people usually join midmatch. In fact I play more against bots now-a-days than I do people because of my weird schedule.

8 times out of 10, or 9 of 10..something. Anyways I usually will join the Ti server if it is empty because I guarantee someone who follows you guys/girls around will join which more than likely I play with often also. Well unless Ace is in there, then Id change my name to some noob name and go whoop ass  Oops did I just say that?
