XP VS VISTA

Link to an artilce showing the speed difference between Vista and XP on certain applications and games . Unreal Tournament runs
appox 32 % slower on Vista.

Well like it says in the conclution "no new Windows release has been able to offer more application performance than its predecessor" so this does not seem to be a surprise. I think the speed of the processors next year and going forward are going to make the present loss of performace a non issue. In the meantime I do not see any reason to run out and get Vista. For me though I think I might want to set up a seperate hard drive or even a virtual one and run Vista to mess with it a bit and see what it is all about while gaming on the XP tip.

Windows Vista dropped OpenGL support. Expect lots less performance on games you like that aren't made for Directx 9+

Yeah I heard Vista laden Doom III players a screwed, glued and jailhouse tatooed with a blue I "heart" Vista logo on there asses.
