Thanks for the information. I've recently been considering if I have this or something else.
Backing up a bit, a couple of years ago almost. I went to the emergency room with severe lower abdominal pains, coming in waves. Among various test they gave me were a colonoscopy and the barium x-ray. According to the Doctor I had swelling and infection in my large intestines. The cause? I don't remember the Doctor giving one which kinda annoys me that something like that can happen without a cause.
Several months after that I was having mild pains again and visited a clinic. That time was less severe and was caused by the low fiber diet the Doctor prescribed for me after I was in the hospital. I just didn't realize when I was supposed to switch my diet back. I only mention that part because a blood test was performed and I was told I was fine.
However, since going to the hospital my digestive track has been much much more sensitive. In the past year and especially the past couple of months I end up having diarrhea episodes almost weekly. The odd part is it seems to be a combination of diarrhea and constipation at the same time if that makes sense. It does happen on certain days I work so I do think part of it at least is triggered psychologically.
If it continues I will seek out a doctor again but until then I've been adding fiber and an "intensive bowel support" supplement which is basically just a probiotic.
In any case it sucks as from my reading there is no cure but only ways to manage symptoms of these disorders.
