I tried to vote but got all dyslexic and ended up casting a veto
Re: 04 NOV 2008
Got stuck at work 15 minutes later then normal, thought for sure I'd be screwed...zero lines got in and out in 10 minutes and 9.5 were actually filling in the circles. Very Awesome!

dead...five hours. no wonder people don't vote. we've got polling every couple miles so my local spot is always 5 minutes tops maybe 10 on a busy time. that's rough...elctronic balloting /machines/or write in ballots?

Ours was like a standardized test.
Present your picture ID and voting card.
Fill out and sign affidavit.
They find you in the book and give you a large sleeve with a large paper ballot inside.
Go sit at a table (where posterboard was used to create a private voting area) and color in the circles next to who you want to vote for.
Take your sleeve (with ballot inside) to the end.
Put your ballot through the machine and sit the sleeve on a table.
This is how the whole county worked this year. Being in a small community I walked right in without waiting.

Yeah I was in for 5 minutes tops. I walked right in, waited for one person to get their ballot. They asked my name, didn't even need an ID and then they handed me the ballot and the pen was in the booth. Sat down, filled it out and then walked over to the tally machine and slid it on in and left. Pretty painless. Glad I live in Vermont!
Re: 04 NOV 2008
There was a problem with the computer verification of the voter rolls. They fixed it maybe 15 minutes before I got my turn. The lines moved much faster after that. We had electronic (hackable) voting machines.myxxplyxx wrote:dead...five hours. no wonder people don't vote. we've got polling every couple miles so my local spot is always 5 minutes tops maybe 10 on a busy time. that's rough...elctronic balloting /machines/or write in ballots?
