Well UT3 will be on the shelves today and I plan on picking up the Collectors edition.
I was wondering how many more of you are going to do the same ?

The real problem with me getting the game is Microsoft.

If I buy UT3, I'll need* a new video card.

If I buy a new video card, I'll also buy a new SATA dvd burner. (no sense opening the computer twice)

If I install a new video card and dvd burner, Vista will require me to re-activate.

If I try to re-activate, I'll have to call Microsoft.

* using need here is sort of like using free* anywhere else.

After the demo? No way. I won't say never, but I need to see marked improvements before I fork over the money.

I can't believe they are releasing the game without a new demo release? or did I miss an updated demo?

Silly Dragn, what is being released is the new demo. Next year is when the release comes out.

I just read pork's note about it being on the shelves. If someone gives me a link to download the new demo, I'll grab it and put it on the server so others can download it faster.

I'm just to lazy to go hunting for the download at the moment.

There is not another demo.
I just got my copy a little while ago.
I went to 3 stores at lunch time and no one had it.
When I came back I checked Best Buys website for the store I had just went to showed as available.
I had to tell my boss that I had left my checkbook there and went back and it still wasn't on the shelves till I finally got a manager to check the warehouse and I got my copy.
I have faith in Epic to shell out 59.00 for the Ultimate edition .
They did not let me down on the last 3 games and I lked the demo but when I get home and install it I will let you know what I think of the final.
After my experinece with the retail industry today I am scared there are enough dumbasses to elect whats her face to that office I won't mention..

Ahh yes... what's her face... luv her.

Anyway about the game... I'm torn. I'm not sure what to do. I want to get it and enjoy it but at the same time the in game browser is screwed up and not easy to find friends add servers etc. Tell us if they fixed anything pork.

I used to have faith in epic but I have none since they are focused on consoles first now. With the clunky console interface of this demo and the crap you had to tweak just to get it to look ok I'm in the wait and see category.

The UI and server browser are the same as in the demo.

Well... I have to say that's quite discouraging.

I think that the only hope for the success of the pc game rests in Midway's response to the comments about the game and its UI on the UT forums.

Serious fans of the series will undoubtedly be underwhelmed, and as a group they're willing to complain about the aspects of the game that they find lacking or worse. Now is the time to waaaa! to Midway.
