Happy T-Day!
I just noticed your signature. Nice.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you. Cooked all day, Ate too much, watched some extended family drama, pretty standard.
Always a little part of me that feels crappy for celebrating a day that marked the humble beginnings of several people who came over to just survive and after they got full, reloaded with more and more people commenced to ravaging and killing off an entire nation of people who respected the land and tried to live with peace with mother earth so we could destroy it with our glutinous ways.
Then again, I am thankful for all I have and choose to look at it that way as well.
*cheers everyone

Well, i didn't see this yesterday, so's all I can say is happy Black Friday.
Spent most of the day at my sisters... then went in to work to switch over our network from using Sonicwall firewall to an ISA server...
Dinner at my sisters went well
Network switch went badly
So I had an average day.
Cheers

Yeah NON can’t agree with you more. My girlfriends mom is full blooded American Indian, can’t remember what tribe but her family is from South Dakota. So my girlfriend is half American Indian and half Italian....o yeah. Her son is 5, just turned, and when I was driving to her mom’s house he asked what Thanksgiving was about. My girlfriend turned to me as if to say this is your area so this is what I told him:
When our country was being built people we call Pilgrams came from far away across an ocean from Europe looking to find a new place to live. The first people that came here were rich bankers, doctors and old money landowners that thought they were very smart. When they got here there were no stores to buy things no houses to live in and the smart people realized they had no clue how to survive without being able to just buy what they needed. When the first winter came they were like the story I told you about the grasshopper and the ant. Just like the lazy grasshopper they spent there time idly and did not plan ahead for the winter. So when the winter came they had no food. The Indians were like the ant and they stored food away all summer and when the winter came they had all the food they needed. So the Indians helped out the Pilgrims by giving them food and teaching them how to survive. So that’s why we give thanks to this day for their help.
So then he asks where all the Indians are now. I told him this was a story for another time but basically the Pilgrims never stopped taking.
Anyway thought I would share.
