why oh why ?
Why do I suck at this game for as long as I have been playing it?

Re: why oh why ?
First let me say, that I have no business giving advice to anyone concerning UT. But since I feel your pain Porky, and because we've been friends for so long, I will respectfully offer a few thoughts, that will hopefully help you.
Pork first of all I'd like to say that you don't suck. You have some very strong points to your game. You are a very good close range player, and I don't like to fight you up close, because you are very good with rockets, flak and goo. You also have a decent hitscan percentage - if you compare yourself to Nyte, Sid or Duffy, I don't think you are far off the hitscan percentages they have.
You've also improved a lot at sneaking and playing stealth like Nyte, though none of us will ever reach his level...we can learn from him, and incorporate that into our games. These are your strong points Pork.
Now this might sting a bit, but remember it's coming from an old friend, and your clan mate:
The reason why you are not improving in UT is because you haven't grasped THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF THE GAME:
IT'S ALL MENTAL
I mainly learned this from Sid and Nyte - they've got this fuckin game figured out, so anyone would be wise to take heed and listen to them. I'll tell you the aspects of the game that I think are mental and Sid can add to this if he want's.
1. Stop giving a damn about the game - show up to have fun.
2. Quit checking your stats or scores, let them check you.
3. Let your improvement come to you! Instead of constantly focusing on improvement, let go and let it come to you.
4. Mental stuff in game: try to always be thinking where your opponent is going, and what's the best weapon to use to fire into the hallway or corridor they will be coming out of.
,,,,,,,,,,,, Try to put yourself in places where you will have cover yet you can still fire.
............ Always be unpredictable
............ When practicing sometime: TURN OFF THE GD GODLIKE BOT, turn on some of your favorite music, and spend a lot of time practicing your movement, especially wall dodges, dodging backwards, pretty much all movement you can think of.
............. Now when you've done your movement practice pick any map and load up 5 Skilled robots...Nyte taught me this....What this does for you, is it keeps you constantly moving and dodging, because you will always be fighting bots when you've got 5 of them. And what's really nice about this is you get to shoot A LOT, so it's a good chance to practice all your weapons. Concerning GODLIKE BOTS, I learned this from Sug, so it's pretty good advice: Godlike Bots can do moves that are not even possible for Humans to do, so it's a waist to practice with them. The real Godlike bots are ingame: they're called Nytefyre.
In Unreal Tournament you have to always be thinking though, you have to always be thinking though, you have to always be thinking though, you have to always be thinking though.....................
As good as Anarchy, Skits, Wasted, Duffy, Sid, Nyte, and even Sug are, if I catch them when they are not thinking or not focused on the mental side of the game, I have a very good chance to win that fight.
Now everything that I said above is all worthless bullshit, if you don't realize the main point that I tried to drive home:
Playing Unreal Tournament is 100% MENTAL
Pork you know I'm not the greatest player, but I have improved, all because I learned from the players mentioned above, who are great....and I believe with all my heart that if they can do it, so can you.
I hope I've helped you some my friend, Prozac

No you're not Pork........you've got a great brain. You're intelligent...you can do this, but for sure if what you've been doing is not working, it's time to change it up!
I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT

LOL that oughta do it. But for real Pork, don't be scared to practice offline, in instant action......that's where I do most of my work outs and it hasn't caused me any trouble when I go online...but I almost always get a great ping.
