Re: Cntrl - Cloverleaf - Spacebar - WTFBBQ?!?!
COMPUTERWORLD has run an astonishing puff for Apple that states unequivocally that 'OSX Leopard Beats Vista for Corporate Satisfaction.'
"Corporate users of Apple Inc.'s Leopard operating system are more than five times more likely to say that they are 'very satisfied' with the OS than business users of Windows Vista , a research firm said last week," shouts the rag.
The report cited states that in a survey last month of 2,200 US corporate computer users, 53 per cent of those using Mac OS X 10.5 reported that they were 'very satisfied' with the operating system.
Of those using Windows XP or Windows Vista, however, just 40 per cent of the former and only eight per cent of the latter said they were 'very satisfied'.
According to Computerworld, this apparently proves that Apple 'continues to set the standard for corporate customer satisfaction' and that 'corporate buying plans for Macs remain at historically high levels, indicating that users like what Apple's doing.'
Seven per cent of those questioned said they planned to buy Apple laptops in the next 90 days.
Well, this all sounds very lovely for Jobs' Mob until we look at the market share figures from the same report.
Of the 2,200 respondents, 73 per cent plan to buy Windows XP or Vista machines in the next three months. A rough calculation shows that this means 1,606 companies going for Microsoft and a rather tragic 154 going with the fruit-based outfit.
When it comes to the user satisfaction figures that form the basis for Computerworld's gushing headline, yet another rough calculation shows that 771 companies are very satisfied with Windows and, err, 82 are very satisfied with Leopard.
Which all goes to prove you shouldn't believe anything you read. µ

Come on now:
Vista Capable Sticker Lawsuit
Windows Genuine Advantage Lawsuit
Nvidia Vista Drivers
And just in case you only wanted to talk about hardware:
Dell/HP Monitor Fire
Dell Laptops
ATI misleading HDCP claims
And let's not forget the famous "its too small" lawsuit that even Apple was included in.
Stupid lawsuits from people trying to get rich for nothing. Find me a tech company that hasn't been sued for something like this.

NVidia deserves it. The drivers work well enough, but their installers foul em up half the time.
WGA / Activation. Don't get me started. I've got 3 full-license copies of XP, and have to call microsoft EVERY SINGLE TIME I upgrade hardware. All this talk about kill-switches. Microsoft doesn't need one... All they need to do is turn off the activation system and change their phone numbers. (I've said this since the day I first heard about it)
