Its Official, Tim Sweeney hates us
Sounds like he has a problem understanding the industry he is in:

Makes me think they won't be trying to fix UT3 on the PC anytime soon either.
Bummer.

LOL, I read this on Slashdot this morning. Do people even use logic anymore?
UT2k4 released on a PC = very successful series that's lasted years
UT3 pussed down for consoles = 6 total people playing it (two of which are Pork smurfing)
Yeah, it's Intel's fault, because there aren't any successful PC games out there....please. With great minds like this, it's no wonder that game totally tanked.

*sigh*.... Yeah, Epic has been on a pretty vocal crusade against Intel's integrated graphics for years now.
While I understand where Sweeney is coming from to a degree, I think that blaming Intel for the woes of PC Gaming (Epic) is incredibly self-serving and naive.
Intel makes a LOT of money on integrated graphics PC sales, as they are extremely low-cost to produce and have a high demand on the consumer market (business and casual customer). In other words, why the hell should Intel care if Epic can or can't sell 3 million copies of UT3? Intel is in the business of moving their processors, and if they are able to identify and meet the needs of a huge potential market, more power to them.
Epic is just butt hurt that this particular move isn't perfectly inline with their, cutting-edge, OMG YUO CAN C tehBLOOD DRIPPING WHEN HE TAKES A STEP!!1!!1?!/ Graphics.
Bottom line: There ARE successful PC games out there right now, but they will ALL run on a wide variety of PC's, even those with modest specs. Epic needs to stop blaming external factors (WHICH ARE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL, BTW), and start looking at themselves.

I could load up CS or WoW right now on just about any PC/Laptop with IG, and play with MILLIONS of other people.
Not only that... but I will have smooth frame rates, and my PC will probably cost less than dinner and drinks for 4 at Appleby's.
The more relevant question is who wouldn't play with IG.

I heard a quote recently, "as long as their are pc's there will be pc gaming."
For whatever reason "pc gaming is dead" had been going on now for about 5 years. Seems stronger every time there is a new console release, like recently with ps3/wii/xbox2. And yet, every time pc games continue to sell just fine. The models may change to certain degrees but they keep selling.
From Valve recently:

From Valve recently:
He continues, "If you took Steam, Peggle, PopCap, WoW and mixed it with NPD numbers, the world looks a lot different. All of a sudden, it looks like PC's probably the biggest one, and year over year, the fastest-growing."

Re: Its Official, Tim Sweeney hates us
Funny thing about the whole pc vs console debate around UT3. They make the game to the benefit of the conole players and I have not heard one person on Xbox live mention the game even in passing. Is it out for Xbox? Only thing I have heard about this week is Ghost Recon 2.
