Lost domain...

Postby Hoss » Fri Apr 06, 2007 4:24 pm

Hey I was trying to repair a connection on a Win XP prof mach. I accidently was off on entering the domain name but hit reboot too quickly. Now I can't get it to boot to change it back! It won't let me use the user name and password! Keeps telling me to make sure my user name and domain are correct. How do I do that from the log on screen? Won't boot into safe mode either....locks during boot.

Where you select which domain to log in to, you should be able click the drop down arrow and select "Log in to this machine [machinename]". Try that, then go into My Computer and remove yourself from the domain and then re-add it.

...and if I don't recall what exactly the machine name was?

No, it should give you the choice of only logging in to the local machine in that drop down box. So it would be like:

Domain1
Domain2
Local Host

or something like that. Don't have to remember the machine name.
