First off thanks Pork for letting me know what was wrong with the vid card it has been that way for a long time and now its great. :D Turns out I had a 250W power supply so that and the fact that it was 3 years old... So I got a good deal on a 450W and went home to install it and quickly found that the outlet dell makes is the opposite of what I bought. So I decided to take out the power tools.

Holy Crap !!
Talk about a major case mod !!
Would it not have been easier just to get another case ?
I had the same video card as you do and had the same problem
and was about to send it back to ATI but since I needed another power supply anyways so I tried it first and it worked.
I change power supplies every ytear and a half.
I put a lot of hours on them.

Houdini, you rock. Reminds me of years ago when I cut the side of my case out and put in a piece of plexiglass with rivets.

What vid card did you get?

I've done that mod a couple of times ... Dell seriously sucks when it comes to cases... It's not that their power supplies are backward, so much as a third-party case would have a 'big hole' that includes the power switch, power connector, and fan areas...

Nice job Hou...

hah thanks. I have the ATI 9800XT and it is ok i guess. I am building my own computer, wel I am having someone buiild it for me. I was looking at cards last night with I think something like 778MB of on board memory and the mother board I saw had capacity for 8Ghz!!!!!! I cant wait to put something nice together.
