server pings ?

Postby Porkinator » Tue Feb 21, 2012 10:31 am

Over the last 2 weeks my ping on the TAM server has jumped from 44 (which has been consistant for about 2 years) to 80 and during play it can spike as high as 100 and even drop as low as 60 and all in one map. I did speed test from Atlanta to Dallas and it has been the same over the last year or so and I even replaced my cat6 cable which was getting a bit frayed .
In short I have checked everything on my end before posting here as I know PD is a very busy dragn
and I don't want to cause him any unnecessary concern.
I see on average a lot of peoples ping has jumped about 20 points.
PD if you need a new router let me know and I will be glad to supply one.

Got some spare Cisco XR 12000's or Catalyst 6500's laying around? :)

Seriously though, if it's more than just one person let me know. Got some new hardware upstream from me in the new setup and they have been doing some maintenance this month so I want to make sure the latency is cleaned up.

I was watching pings from the webadmin tonight. most players were averaging between 48-62. While true, the pings are a bit higher than before, maybe 10-15 higher on average. Pork and Clown seem to be the ones affected on a regular basis. Zippy's ping jumped to the 80's and Clown's is up to 100+.

Last night it seems mine was the only one bouncing around like a ping pong ball till later maps I noticed Pro and other started jumping.
I hopped on Slaughterhouse which also is in Dallas and played 10 minutes straight with the score board down and had a consistant 68 ping .

Yep servers back to normal last night and I got my usual 44 ping back.
Thanks for taking care of that .
BTW Sid still can't get the Teamspeak server working and Duffy and Clown are locked out.
We going to TS 3.0 soon?
